Matthew Gingell - Biog

In essence I help business protect and exploit their ideas, products and services. I have a particular interest in new media and the real time web. In essence I am a bit of a geek but it didn't do Steve Jobs or Bill Gates any harm.

My official tile is 'solicitor in the Intellectual Property & Technology law team at Foot Anstey'. I am based in our Exeter office.

I advise clients on the specialist areas of copyright, trade marks, design rights, patents and associated intellectual property contracts, licences and agreements. My experience also includes drafting a wide range of IT, Outsourcing and E-Commerce contracts.

I work with a number of businesses and public authorities across the UK and regularly advises on commercial contracts where intellectual property or technology are key.

I am a member of the Society for Computers and Law and provide guest lecturer on open source software licensing for Exeter University’s copyright LLM.

I am a keen sportsman and am in the throws of retirement for Sidmouth RFC.

This year I ran the London marathon - always looking for new challenges so any ideas welcome.
